Since I am so very bored right now, I think i will share my little pattern. I can not say for sure if anyone else has made this yet, but what i am saying i haven't seen it anywhere. Its a star made with buttons. This particular photo is the first one of a pair of earrings, I am sending to someone on facebook. Hopefully she doesn't read my blog, lol. So obviously i made these into earrings, but it can also be used for a necklace pendant. You can put more points on it, or less, or turn it around...so lets start.
For the star:
5 buttons with either 2 or 4 holes
For a square or diamond
4 buttons with either 2 or 4 holes
For a hexagon
6 buttons with either 2 or 4 holes
2 RINGS PER BUTTON
* first ring are going to be 1-5+5-1 the join is at the button hole
** after first ring make sure to join at the 1st picot.
*** last ring is going to be 1+5+5+1 making sure to join to the 1st rings 1st picot!
for earrings using a 2 holed button, i put a large jump ring through both holes and a single jump ring joining those two then fastened to an earring hook.
for earrings using a 4 holed button, I just put a jump ring through the top hole and one jump ring through that and an earring.
To finish, you can glue or stiffen or just wet block, its up to you. I choose to glue with clear glue.
I hope you like it!

Cecilia
thank you, i hope you make something with them, let me know! that would be awesome.
Very clever idea, Shannon! I have some old buttons I got in Europe that are very pretty but couldn't think of a nice way to use them. This will be it! Thank you, thank you!
